A foundation built on a simple conviction: students learn science best when they get to explore it.
Our Mission
To improve science education in the United States and conduct basic scientific research in furtherance of public benefit.
Exploraversity is a nonprofit organization operating under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. We work at the intersection of education and research — developing immersive learning experiences for young people while advancing the fundamental science that will define their future.
Traditional classrooms often ask students to learn about science before they ever get to do it. We think that order is backwards. When a learner can step into a virtual laboratory, operate the instruments of a real discipline, and be guided by a patient mentor, curiosity does the rest.
Our programs are built for learners from elementary school through high school, and everything we create is designed to serve the public — not private commercial interests.
We help students explore careers and subjects — especially in the sciences — through simulation and play.
Artificially intelligent mentors act as guides, answering questions and encouraging discovery.
Learning is collaborative. Students explore, build, and solve problems alongside their peers.
Our research results are made available to the public, on a nondiscriminatory basis and in a timely manner.
Exploraversity is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors that provides oversight, sets strategy, and holds ultimate legal authority for the organization. Our leadership brings together decades of experience in science teaching, educational assessment, physics, engineering, and technology.
The Board approves the organization's mission and budget, ensures sound financial and governance practices, and maintains a Conflict of Interest policy consistent with IRS guidance. Day-to-day direction of programs, educational materials, outreach, and fundraising is led by the President.
As a public charity, Exploraversity is supported by grants and charitable contributions. We pursue funding from sources such as the National Science Foundation and the U.S. Department of Education to advance science education, and we welcome partnerships with foundations, institutions, and individuals who share our mission.
Any intellectual property we develop — from educational software to research results — is held and used in furtherance of our exempt, educational purposes.
